Thus, Benefit's They're Real Push-Up Liner Pen ($24) was born. Yes, it's a part of the They're Real line, which is practically like being born into the royal family of makeup. At the launch party in Los Angeles, I can't tell you how many times I heard "this is a game changer!"
Here's why:
- It's a gel. In pen form! But how can this be possible? The tip of this pen is what really set it apart for me. It's not felt, like most liner pens. It's thin, feels like silicone, and bends with the natural curve of your lash line as it dispenses the gel formula. The pen also helps to gently move your lashes out of the way so you can get closer to your lash line. It makes doing tricky wing tips and cat eyes a breeze because you can almost stamp it on. Brilliant.
- It's a push-up liner, meaning you give it a few clicks and the gel is dispensed from the tip. So you won't end up using too much of it, and you don't have to worry about it drying out like a felt tip. Annie said only two clicks are needed for both eyes, and after testing it, I discovered that she was right.
- No brush needed! You can carry this in your clutch and touch up at dinner.
Bonus: the gel liner in the pen is waterproof, so it's not going to smudge at a music festival or pool party. The Benefit pros created a remover, too, which rivals a cleansing balm. It's superhydrating and not oily at all.
